Favorite crock pot recipe, withOUT CHICKEN?

I make some really good round steak in the crockpot and it gets so tender and falls apart. Here is my recipe.





1 package of round steak





1 packet hunter sauce mix





1 packet mushroom gravy mix





2 packets brown gravy mix





Water





Cooking oil





Flour





Onion powder or 1/2 medium yellow onion





Trim fatty edges off of round steak and then cut the steak into 3 inch pieces. Put some cooking oil into the pan. Just enough for frying. Put onion powder or cut up onion into oil. Coat steak with flour and put into the pan that has the oil and onion powder or onion and cook until brown on the outside. Add all of the gravy and sauce packets into the crockpot and add just enough water to dilute the gravy and sauce powder. Turn on crockpot to high heat. Add the steak into the crockpot and cook all day on high and turn down to low 30 minutes before serving. Serve with mashed potatoes.





This is delicious and easy to make. Hope you enjoy it.


P.S. Sometimes the gravy mixture thins out when it has been cooking all day. If that happens whisk in flour until it is the desired thickness.Favorite crock pot recipe, withOUT CHICKEN?
I picked this recipe because of it's flavor and ease of cooking method, but also for it's second hand use in other recipes for the week. Slow cooked BBQ Beef:


INGREDIENTS


3 tablespoons all-purpose flour


3 pounds chuck roast


15 ounces tomato sauce


1/2 cup chopped onion


1/3 cup brown sugar


2 cubes beef bouillon


1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder


1 clove garlic, minced


1 teaspoon mustard powder





DIRECTIONS


Rub the flour into the roast. Place roast in bottom of slow cooker. Pour in the tomato sauce, onion, brown sugar, bouillon, chili powder, garlic and mustard powder. Mix well.


Cover slow cooker and cook on high setting for 8 hours OR on low setting for 14 to 16 hoursFavorite crock pot recipe, withOUT CHICKEN?
MORROCCAN LAMB AND RICE


1 lb. boneless lamb, cut into 1'; pieces


1 Granny Smith apple, chopped


6 oz. pkg. chicken flavored rice and vermicelli pasta mix


1-1/2 cups chicken broth


1 tsp. curry powder





Combine lamb, apple, seasoning mix from rice, chicken broth, and curry powder in 3-1/2-4 quart slow cooker. Mix well. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours. Then stir in rice and pasta mixture, cover, and cook for 3-4 hours longer until lamb is thoroughly cooked and rice and pasta are tender.

4 lbs pork spareribs


salt and pepper to taste


1 onion, chopped


1 green bell pepper, chopped


2 stalks celery, chopped


2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce


3 tbs brown sugar


2 tbs white wine vinegar


juice of 1 lemon


2 tbs worcestershire sauce





*season ribs w/ salt and pepper and brown on both sides in a skillet over med/high heat.


*place half of the onion, pepper and celery in the bottom of slow cooker. place half of ribs on top of veggies. repeat with remaining veggies and ribs.


*mix remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over ribs.


*cover and cook on low for 9-10 hours.
Barbecue Beef Short Ribs


INGREDIENTS:





* 3 1/2 pounds beef short ribs


* 1 tablespoon vegetable oil


* 1 large onion, cut into wedges


* 4 medium potatoes, peeled


* 4 medium carrots; pared, cut up


* 1 cup water


* 1 cup tomato ketchup


* 1/3 cup red wine vinegar


* 1 tablespoon paprika


* 1 teaspoon curry powder


* 1/2 teaspoon chili powder


* 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard


* 2 teaspoons salt


* 1 tablespoon cornstarch, optional


* 2 tablespoons water





PREPARATION:


In a skillet over medium heat, brown ribs in vegetable oil; transfer to slow cooker, along with onions, potatoes and carrots. Combine next 8 ingredients and pour over the short ribs and vegetables. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours.


Thicken with cornstarch mixed with water, if desired.


Serves 4.
Easy Pot Roast


pot roast


potatoes-peeled and cut into chunks


baby carrots


canned whole green beans-optional


can of cream of mushroom


lipton onion soup envelope


soup can of water


place roast in crockpot, place veggies around roast, mix soups and water and pour over roast and veggies. Cook on low for 4-6 hours. Serve biscuits to sop up gravy.....





Hash Brown Casserole (Slow Cooker Version)


Ingredients:


Casserole


鈥?10 oz. Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup


鈥?1/2 cup finely chopped onion


鈥?1 cup non-fat sour cream


鈥?1 tsp. salt


鈥?1/4 tsp. pepper


鈥?2 1/4 lbs.Frozen hash brown potatoes


鈥?1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese


Topping (OPTIONAL)


鈥?1 tbsp. hard margarine or butter


鈥?1/4 cup corn flake crumbs


鈥?Optional: Add chopped up ham to make a complete meal.


Casserole


1. Stir first 5 ingredients in large bowl.


2. Add potato and cheese.


3. Turn into slow cooker.


4. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours.


Topping


5. Melt margarine in small saucepan.


6. Stir in corn flake crumbs and saute until crisp.


7. Scatter over top before serving.





Chunky Chili


1 pound ground beef


1 medium onion, chopped


1 tbsp chili powder


1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin


2 cans (16oz each) diced tomatoes, undrained


1 can (15oz) pinto beans, rinsed and drained


1/2 c. prepared salsa


1/2 c. (2oz) shredded cheddar cheese (optional)


1/4 c. diced onions (optional)


4 tsp. sliced black olives (optional)


dollops of sour cream (optional)


Heat large skillet over medium heat. Add beef and onion, cook until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain fat. Place beef mixture, chili powder, cumin, tomatoes, beans and salsa in crockpot; stir. Cover; cook on low 5 to 6 hours or until flavors are blended and chili is bubbly. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with cheese, onions, olives and sour cream. Makes 4 (1 1/2-cup) servings


Serving Suggestion: Serve with tossed green salad and cornbread muffins.
Variation of Beef Stew:





2lbs Beef Stew meat or Cubed English Roast


1 can Golden Mushroom soup


1 can French Onion Soup


1 can water


1 32 oz pckg frozen mixed vegetables


1 16oz package Country Style Hash browns (cubed not shredded)





Mix meat, soup and water in slow cooker. Let cook on medium for approx. 6 hours. Add vegetables and potatoes and cook on high for at least 1 additional hour. I serve it with a salad and warmed french bread or rolls.
Cubed steak chopped up into small pieces.


Cream of mushrooms soup (1-2 cans).


You can chop a onion if you like.


Mix all together and add water .


Season to taste.


Let cook between med and high for a few hours.





Boil some rice on the stove.


It makes a great bed for this recipe.

I love making chili in mine. I like to find a recipe on the net, then tweek it to my tastes, usually by making it spicier.
baby back pork ribs, 5lbs of them left int he crock with a little bit of water and your favorite bbq... at least 4 hours to cook on low.
Corned Beef with some Vegetable or chicken :) Stock. Let cook for about 3-5 hours.
Ribs or BBQ Pork for sandwiches.
Pot roast!
