Honey chicken recipe??

like the ones from the chinese restuarants.


not interested in adventurous versions of it, just the traditional one. thanks!Honey chicken recipe??

HONEY SESAME CHICKEN





Chicken breast cut into cubes





Marinade:





1 tsp chicken base (not bouillon; base is a pastelike mixture available in gourmet or larger supermarkets)





Dash of white pepper





Salt to taste





Sugar to taste





陆 tsp cooking wine





陆 tsp sesame oil








Garnishes:





Toasted white sesame seeds





Chopped green onions








Batter:





戮 cup all-purpose flour





录 cup cornstarch





1 heaping tsp baking powder





陆 of a beaten egg





2 tbsp oil





2/3 cup water





Pinch of salt








Honey Sauce:





1/8 cup, plus 1 tbsp honey





录 cup sugar





1/8 cup ketchup





1 tbsp white vinegar








Method:





1. Combine marinade ingredients and let cubed chicken soak in liquid for 30 minutes.





2. Combine batter ingredients. Set aside.





3. Combine sauce ingredients. Set aside.





4. Heat cooking oil for frying, about 320潞 F. Using tongs, dip marinated chicken into batter and deep fry.





5. Heat honey sauce in a large wok. Turn off heat. Add chicken pieces and toss to coat. Place chicken in green onions and sesame seeds.

Honey Fried Chicken





INGREDIENTS


1 (4 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces


salt and pepper to taste


1/2 cup honey


1 tablespoon garlic powder


1 packet chicken bouillon granules


2 cups all-purpose flour


1 quart vegetable oil for frying





DIRECTIONS


Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then coat each seasoned chicken piece with honey.


In a shallow dish or bowl, mix together the garlic powder, chicken bouillon granules and flour. Dredge honey coated chicken pieces in flour mixture, coating completely.


Fill a large, heavy skillet with oil to a depth of one inch. Heat over medium-high heat.


Fry chicken for at least 5 minutes per side, until no longer pink and juices run clear.
i think its lemon chicken, but in some chinese resto's its called honey chicken. try going to www.foodnetwork.com.
